Gilford Youth Center

The Gilford Youth Center’s (GYC) mission is to provide a safe,

affordable, and inclusive facility (environment) for Gilford and

the Lakes Region which offers educational, athletic, and community

opportunities for youth, adults and families to improve the

quality of life. The GYC will open in August 2009.

The Gilford Community Church has graciously given a 10 year land lease to build the youth center. The church already serves as a meeting location for several area groups that include: boy and girl scouts, quilting groups, tai chi classes, lakes region chordsmen, Gunstock ski club, Alcoholics Anonymous, Gilford historical society, and the Opechee garden club. The GYC has already agreed to provide space to the local parks and recreation departments to expand services and the Lakes Region Boys and Girls Club.

The Gilford Youth Center is governed by a Board of Directors and employs a full-time Director of Youth, Children and Family Programs. The director will asume the reponsibilities of the the youth center once it is constructed.

The Gilford Youth center will offer a full size gymnasium, fitness room, social room and game room.
